How does it work?
1) The Science Behind Creativity
Part 1: Mini Lecture
Hosted by our President, we will walk through the following topics:
An overview of mental health
Understanding the brain
Benefits of creativity
Exhibiting creativity
(We tailor each presentation for the needs of the organization)
Weekly
Participants will continue artwork in journal
Track their mood with a given mood-tracker (stays confidential to the participant)
Post their art on the Unplugged Expressions platform where their fellow students and parents can send positive feedback
Bi-Weekly
Unplugged Expressions sends out a quick, high-level survey to track progress and relays the progress to the organization to show how it is benefiting their group
Monthly
Unplugged Expressions sends out monthly newsletters with various ways to stay creative and practice mindfulness
Part 2: Guided Art Activity
Put theory into practice as we walk through a stress relieving art activity:
We will provide all art materials for the in-class activity and we can mail them if we are hosting remotely!
Each student will receive an art journal or canvas to bring home
We request for an on-site counselor or therapist to be present to support the participants as they navigate the potential emotional journey of self-expression
2) Implementation Phase (Optional)
To confirm, what do we provide?
Team: If in-person, we will provide a team member to lead the workshop. If remote, our president will lead it over Zoom.
Workshop Program: We will provide the slide deck and overall program layout.
Marketing: We will create a flyer and RSVP google form for you! All we ask is for you to send the flyer and information to your distribution list or network.
Materials: We will provide all art materials including paints, paint brushes, canvases, art journals, etc. If it is a remote workshop, we will mail them.
Optional - Newsletters, Progress Surveys, etc.
What do we need from you?
